Tobyhanna is currently seeking an Engineer Technician III with a current active Secret Clearance. Employment CONTINGENT upon government approval.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Engineer Technician III will work on electronic system of great complexity to include AN/MST-T1A Multiple Threat Emitter System, AN/MST-T1(V) Miniature Multiple Threat Emitter System, AN/MSQ-T43 Module Threat Emitter, AN/VPQ-1 Tactical Radar Threat Generator AN/GPN-22 Precision Approach Radar, AN/TPN-19 Landing Control Center, AN/MPN-14K Landing Control Central Radar systems, AN/FRN-45 Tactical Air Navigation systems, and AN/TSW-7A Air Traffic Control Central; which are/and involves major modifications and/or lack developed documentation.
Coordinates with technical and engineering personnel on such matters as establishing test facilities, correcting, and/or developing repair and test specifications and developing modifications to equipment to prevent recurring problems.
Tests, troubleshoots, analyzes, modifies, evaluates, and repairs highly complex electronic equipment and systems lacking in reliable specifications which might include state-of-the-art technology.
Conducts tests to verify that equipment undergoing development, modification, or overhaul meets required parameters and specifications.
Studies available specifications and procedures.
Validates test equipment and procedures required to assure correct repair and operation of the equipment.
Conducts a complete series of tests to accomplish overhaul and implementation of maintenance procedures.
In these work situations, incumbent works regularly with engineering or quality assurance personnel to refine or verify specifications, establish test setups and test procedures. Incumbent works with the equipment until the procedures and specifications have been verified and experience is gained; turning it over to Lower Level 1 Mechanics for subsequent servicing, providing additional assistance on unusual problems as needed.
Incumbent works with unusual independence, determining the steps to be taken to accomplish the assignment in coordination with engineering or QA personnel, or customers while on temporary duty assignments at user locations.

Extensive practical knowledge of operation, capabilities and limitations of electronic equipment and systems, and skill in applying this knowledge to understand systems in order to improvise alignment, repair and operating procedures which will be efficient, complete, and compatible with available resources.
Skill in troubleshooting, analyzing and isolating complex electronic systems which lack developed documentation, and/or utilize new technology.
Skill in interpreting electronics drawings, specifications, and schematics of major electronic systems new to Tobyhanna Army Depot which involve major modifications of systems previously assigned but the depot lacks knowledge of the system problem and expertise in its repair.
Practice1 knowledge of electronic theory and design and ability to use theoretical concepts to devise solutions for operations, repair or test problems on systems new to the depot or undergoing major modifications.
EDUCATION : High school diploma or GED, 2-year advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
EXPERIENCE : 1 year experience in related field; no less than three years specific experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
