Job Description

AECOM Markham is looking for a Project Manager to add to its growing team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Planning and design integrated municipal roadway, transit facilities and active transportation facilities projects for major municipalities;

  • Provide direction to engineering staff in the preparation of environmental assessments, detailed design drawings, contract documents, engineering specifications and cost estimates for municipal road work;

  • Oversee preparation of designs using computer design tools (e.g. CAD, transportation software);

  • Conduct/attend client and public meetings;

  • Assist/prepare correspondence, engineering reports, and specifications;

  • Ability to lead a team of professionals, as well as liaise with clients and subconsultants

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring for junior staff;

  • Successfully manage project schedule, finances, quality, health and safety;

  • Assist with business development activities and proposals;

  • Performs a wide-range of additional duties intended to support your growth and development within a transportation engineering environment;

  • Provide Quality Management reviews by ensuring corporate policies are followed and documented.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering + minimum 4 years experience in transportation design of roads

  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario

  • Knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standards and relevant GTHA Standard Tender Documents for Unit Price Contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the transportation planning and design engineering field is preferred

  • Knowledge of applicable design standards including those published by TAC and MTO;

  • Knowledge of Municipal Class EA process;

  • Experience with AutoCAD (and Civil3D) and/or MicroStation (and InRoads), and other roadway design software;

  • Outstanding communication and verbal skills in English, documentation and proposal writing skills;

  • This position is municipally oriented, but experience with MTO as a project manager and lead design engineer will be considered.

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90,000.00 - $125,000.00.
