Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect to join our growing team in our Tampa, FL office. We are seeking qualified candidates at a senior experience level in architectural practice, able to provide leadership for all stages of projects, guiding projects, teams, and clients.

Candidates should possess high level of technical expertise for project design development and engineering, thoroughness of design documents, and quality control. The role will have responsibility and opportunity with guiding a team of architects and providing a senior level point of reference from a depth of industry experience. This opportunity is a key role to help us grow our team and knowledge.

Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Work on multiple projects as assigned.

  • Assist in training and evaluation of assigned personnel.

  • Assist in development of architectural methods and techniques.

  • Collaborate with building engineers, specialists, landscape, civil, and similar. Coordination with project team and other disciplines.

  • Work under supervision of Department Lead and other senior management as assigned.

  • Partner with Project Manager for Client and Project success.

  • Serve as a resource for Design Development, building technologies, innovations, and sustainability.

  • Develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors, for product and construction knowledge.

  • Work directly with contractors and construction managers.

  • Work on mid-large multiple project types in municipal, aviation, education, institutional, commercial.

  • Be a leader, contribute to office culture, and be part of building a collaborative and creative team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Recent relevant experience as a Senior level Project Architect

  • Licensed Architect required

  • Experience in software platforms including Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Adobe, and/or similar.

  • Demonstrated experience with constructability and building systems, solving constructability, engineering, means and methods, and creating clear documents to describe project design and construction requirements.

  • Experience managing + evaluating design to budget, and leading value engineering efforts, permitting process and reviews, and projects from design development through construction and handover.

  • Previous experience leading and mentoring architectural/technical teams.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements including building codes, construction types, accessibility, and Life Safety.

  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a licensed Architect is preferred

  • Licensed Architect for a minimum of 8 years.

  • Experience using Revit.

  • Experience leading Client and team progress meetings.

  • Previous experience conducting quality control project reviews and refinements.

  • Experience building envelope systems, engineering, and detailing.

  • Demonstrated experience with contractual documents, and industry standards and lessons related to risk and standards of care

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $106,800.34 - $145,000.00.
