Job Description

AECOM has a position available for a Construction Senior Manager to join our growing Energy Business Line supporting large multi-year projects as a part of the program and construction management team. The projects include grid modernization, transportation electrification, renewable fuels, emerging markets in hydrogen and carbon capture, microgrids, solar and battery storage, and other energy projects.

AECOM is pursuing projects in the industrial, municipal, defense, and commercial market segments. AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.

The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to:

  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans.

  • Reviews objectives to determine success of operation.

  • Represents AECOM and Client organizations in dealings with Prime and Sub- Contractors, land owners, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders during the planning and execution of construction projects.

  • Represents AECOM in both verbal and written communication with the Client.

  • Maintains logbooks and records and communicates regularly with AECOM and Client leadership teams regarding schedule and cost performance of construction projects, including negotiation of change orders, documentation of work performed, review of contractor submittals including schedules and technical submittals, coordination of logbook and data source updating as appropriate, and other related efforts.

  • Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Oversee and direct the work of AECOM and Client procured construction contractors, including lower tier subcontractors, in the construction of a portfolio of projects.

  • Oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.

  • Provide technical advice and direction to construction contractors based on Client and Agency Standard Specifications, Project Plans and Special Specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.

  • Erroneous decision or failure to achieve results adds to costs and may impact short-term goals of organization.

  • Success in working with remote teams

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma with 14 years of related experience and 2 years of leadership experience

  • Valid US Driver’s License, and as a condition of employment, pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review.

  • As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to pass a drug-screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management from ABET accredited college or university and 10+ years of related experience.

  • History of progressively increasing responsibility for management of construction, including

  • Craft experience in installation of underground facilities for power or telecommunications infrastructure.

  • Foreman, General Foreman, or Superintendent of crews installing similar facilities.

  • Construction Manager or Project Manager for projects which installed similar facilities.

  • Experience with duct bank installations in Southern California, Arizona, or Southern Nevada since 2000.

  • Journeyman Lineman, Operating Engineer, Electrician, Pipefitter / Steamfitter, Or Equivalent Journeyman status in related or appropriate trade

  • Experience managing the supervision of Outside Plant construction for Power Utility, including either Underground Trench and Conduit / Duct and Structures / Duct Bank (or equivalent work with an alternate name) or Underground High Voltage (12kV+) Construction

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $170,000.00 - $215,000.00.
