Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Engineer 4 to be based in our Salt Lake City, UT office.

Perform engineering assignments for civil project development, design, construction implementation of diverse waste management, industrial waste landfills, and complex environmental cleanup projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Using Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads Software, develop CAD 3-D Models for design of large-scale earthen projects.

  • Generate complete design calculations, specifications, and drawings for heavy earthwork projects associated with earthen embankments, stormwater, and industrial landfills.

  • Responsible for designs, analyses, or design reviews.

  • Proficient in one of the following civil engineering disciplines:

o Water resources design associated with large earthwork projects.

o Geosynthetic design as related to earthwork projects.

o Seismic design of both earthen and concrete structures.

  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering disciplines to develop drawings, specifications and other requirements.

  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation including design requirements, design reports, and operation and maintenance manuals.

  • Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels of design.

  • Conduct site visits and evaluate engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.

  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and procedures.

  • Support development of proposals, including scope definition, staff resourcing, scheduling, and costing.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • FE in any state supported by NCEES.

  • Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience

  • Experienced in Industrial Landfill Design.

  • Experienced in design and construction management of regulatory clean-up projects under CERCLA, RCRA, or DOE.

  • Proficient in using Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads Software.

  • Capable of navigating regulatory compliance issues.

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Pursuing license as a PE in any state supported by NCEES.

  • 10 years of job-related experience.

  • Design lead for industrial waste landfill projects and environmental cleanup projects.

  • Working knowledge of radioactive waste disposal facility design and operations.

  • Experienced serving as an Owner’s representative for construction projects valued at least $5 to $10 million dollars.

  • 40-hr Hazwoper Trained
