Job Description

AECOM is looking to hire a talented Junior Marketing & Communications Coordinator based in Rocky Hill, CT . This role will involve supporting the marketing team for the CT rides project and working with the CT rail Hartford Line, CT rail Shoreline East, and CT fastrak brands. The position will require collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Transportation and engagement with major employers, colleges/universities, and transportation stakeholders. Responsibilities will include assisting with developing and implementing the project's marketing communication strategy.

Work Direction/Complexity:

  • Support the marketing team in writing and implementing internal and external communications, including content for print, web, email messaging, brochures, newsletters, and more.

  • Proofreading and quality control of all internal and external communications.

  • Assist in the development of departmental presentations.

  • Monitor consistency with branding requirements and messaging on all communications and digital platforms

  • Support the management of 13 social media accounts across multiple brands and platforms (including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn)

  • Manage and organize original art inventory and marketing asset storage systems.

  • Exhibit creativity to help produce effective and successful communication materials.

  • Present marketing updates at team and client meetings.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of promotions and events

  • Work under limited supervision.

  • Some heavy lifting (<30 lbs) may be required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field plus none or demonstrated equivalent of experience and /or education.

  • Valid Driver’s license and as a condition of employment, pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills.

  • Energetic and articulate individual with the communication skills and persuasiveness necessary to influence, motivate, and inform.

  • Familiarity with MailChimp or similar email marketing platforms.

  • Experience with Google Suite of products, including but not limited to, Google Analytics.

  • Passion for sustainability and equity.

  • Possess a solid understanding of effective marketing communications techniques.

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about social media platforms, trends, and how to properly utilize them to communicate brand messaging.

  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, project manage multiple assignments, and interact effectively with employees at all levels.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft OS, Adobe suite of products.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $27.05/hour - $31.98/hour.
