This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. The program also has learning activities that will be available to you, including webinars and on-line programs.

The EL Mechanical Engineer-HVAC will perform the following duties:

  • Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents

  • Work within a project team environment

  • Maintain and organize all project related documentation

  • Coordinate work with other project disciplines

  • Ability to interact and communicate with other team members and disciplines

  • Work independently with Project LEAD supervision and make technical decisions based on company, client and industry standard practices

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program

0-2 years of experience with an architectural/engineering firm providing mechanical/plumbing drafting services, including 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) for commercial and institutional facilities

A valid driver's license is required

Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is requiredAbility to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) registration

Experience with BIM (Revit or AECOsim) software

Secret or Top Secret DoD clearance

Working knowledge of Mechanical systems analysis tools (TRANE Trace or Equivalent Load Program, Various Selection Programs, Etc.)

Direct experience in Department of Defense, Health Care, and Government facilities

Experience working on projects that were executed using REVIT or a similar 3D BIM Product

Proficient in the use of computers for developing engineering drawings

Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively
