Job Summary

As a Senior Maritime Engineer, you will ideally be chartered. You will have proven design, planning and project management experience delivering maritime projects to quality, time and budget. You will have experience of working as part of project teams developing a range of engineering scheme solutions from initial concept through to detailed design for implementation. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.

As a Senior Maritime Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Working as the design and/or planning lead on various maritime projects globally, including container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbours.

  • Managing projects and assisting with bids and tenders, as well as providing technical QA.

  • Working with clients to define their requirements and discuss progress.

  • Liaising with colleagues on port planning, geotechnics, civil and structural design.

  • Occasional short to medium term site visits (UK and Overseas) may also become necessary depending on project requirements.

  • Working with relevant planning codes, legislations and standards such as BS6349, PIANC, OCIMF.

  • Assisting with business development and preparation of tenders.

  • Supporting Graduate Engineers and providing mentorship to new members of staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in design and supervision of dredging, reclamation and marine construction works of which minimum experience as a design team leader within the consulting industry desirable preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with coastal or maritime engineering.

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional status desirable.
