Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Workspace Planner to be based in Philadelphia, PA.

This role will organize and coordinate temporary and permanent relocation of corporate office and operational department spaces as part of a complex, multi-phase renovation of a transit hub located within a historic building. The goal of this role is to make the process of moving as stress-free and seamless as possible for the departments involved.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting and advocating for end-users being moved to either temporary or permanent locations throughout the multi-year renovation process.

  • Coordination with operational department managers and space planners to support the assignment of temporary and permanent work locations.

  • Managing the logistics of each move, including planning and communication of move requirements, coordination with movers, and move-day assurance of the delivery of each end-user’s belongings to their new location.

  • Reviewing relocation plans with end-users to manage their expectations of their moves and help them understand and plan for any impacts to their operations.

  • Presenting potential programmatic or operational problems identified during discussions with the end-users to the project team for resolution.

  • Coordinating with corporate IT and security groups for operational and individual workspace set-up including the installation and connection of IT and security equipment, such as computers, printers, telephones, security cameras and access card readers.

  • Coordination of all activities required to occupy and use of general office spaces after construction including, but not limited to, the installation of equipment and art and stocking of office and kitchen supplies.

  • Verify concordance of the moves with the contractual requirements of the project. With this clear understanding of the contractual scope of the work, help educate users on what is being provided for each move and their responsibilities for supporting the move operations. Track move quantities and move requirements against contract obligations and limits.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of related experience in the Architecture or Interior Design profession.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the planning, scheduling, and execution of complex tasks with a strong attention to detail, organization, and record-keeping to ensure all items are accounted for and all relocations meet deadlines and budgets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills including experience scheduling, writing directions, and communicating through email or memos and other forms of written communication.

  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities by using creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unforeseen problems.

  • Experience reading construction documents with the ability to interpret drawings and relay that information to end-users to understand their proposed spaces and identify potential impacts to their operations.

  • Work collaboratively with project designers to resolve potential programmatic or operational problems identified by the end-users.

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong people skills with the ability to interact and build rapport in a short time.

  • Skills in data entry to maintain accurate and updated records to organize and coordinate with others.

  • Ability to develop and communicate procedures to others to enable successful execution.

  • Strong leadership abilities within a collaborative team environment.

  • Demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize tasks on a daily basis.

  • Experience setting up, maintaining, and meeting schedules and deadlines.

  • Reside within Philadelphia area to allow direct contact with local design team members, consultants, and clients and be available to perform onsite meetings, surveys, and relocation management.

  • Advanced Technical Skills: Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), database and presentation software; demonstrated ability to master new applications quickly.

  • Licensed as a registered Architect or Interior Designer.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $140,000.00.
