Job Summary

Provide senior level system engineering support for the Combined Tactical Training Ranges.

Perform engineering and project management, requirements development, system and network design, COTS product evaluation, cost analysis and estimation, procurement, pre-installation design, development and testing, systems installation and integration, with full integrated logistics support to include configuration management, documentation, and training for Navy approved network and communications projects and systems.

Plans, proposes and implements modifications, modernizations, improvements and upgrades of computer systems, communications equipment, for range reconfigurations, and new facility and capability buildups. Supports equipment relocation to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration and installation

Analyzes systems and communications network requirements to plan for projected growth, and bandwidth loading of new systems or modifications to existing systems.

Supports mission critical range systems and communications to include engineering, installation, and integration of servers, network appliances, and communications equipment as necessary to meet present and future range capability requirements.

Prepares, delivers, and submits technical papers and performs engineering studies

Develops and applies advanced methods, and analytical techniques in research, investigation and solution of complex problems.

Works closely with Configuration Manager, Technical Writers and Drafters to create and maintain configuration documentation using MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Visio and/or AutoCAD. Supports the Configuration Management (CM) program in the generation of Engineering Change Requests to improve interoperability, reliability, and maintainability of new and existing systems.

Minimum Requirements

Degree in an engineering field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university

Five years’ experience in systems engineering, project management, system design, analysis, development, integration, testing, configuration management, and documentation.

Required Certifications: Security +, Operating Systems Cert

Must possess and maintain an active SECRET clearance.

Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License.

Must obtain and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.

May require current COMSEC certification

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

Microsoft or Cisco Certifications

National Instruments, Certified LabView Developer

Specific knowledge of and experience with:

Window, Unix/Linux Operating Systems

Linux and Microsoft Server Development

Communications (analog, digital, and voice),

Network Communications

Signal and Data Processing

Data Acquisition and Remote Control Interface Development

Computer and Display Systems Development

Advanced Network Troubleshooting of systems and communications

Experience installing, configuring and supporting VMWare vSphere/ESXi,

Experience in configuring TACLANE, Cisco Systems, SolarWinds, Microwave data links, and wireless mesh, fiber optics and data storage systems (SAN/ NAS DAS)
