AECOM Library Technician in Norfolk, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Library Technician to join our team. The position will be located on the government site at the Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) Dam Neck, VA. The Library Technician works directly with Government and Contractor personnel to provide library support to CSCS Library Dam Neck.

  • Provide customer service both in person and telephonically

  • Maintain library collection, circulate library materials, and maintain a status accounting system for recording the circulation of records

  • Receive, process, and track material

  • Provide monthly progress report

  • Disseminate, control, and track library materials on load

  • Maintain physical collection

  • Shelve books, periodicals, reports, specifications, and standards according to appropriate identification

  • Organize and shift library materials to accommodate growth

  • Ensure publications are kept up-to-date with the latest changes available

  • Record changes electronically

  • Evaluate, disassemble, and shred materials, as needed

  • Order publications, as needed

  • Collect publications for destruction

  • Perform general organizational tasks

  • Perform or report equipment maintenance, as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • One year of general knowledge of routine library functions

  • Able to perform duties such as shelf maintenance and record keeping, circulation, and material retrieval

  • Understanding of filing systems for each type of material

  • Ability to file correctly and accurately by specific numbers

  • Position may require travel

  • Position requires an active Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Previous naval experience.
