AECOM Galley / Laundry Electrical Technician in Norfolk, Virginia

AECOM is actively seeking a navy electrician to provide technical assistance in the assessment and repair of shipboard Laundry, and Galley equipment. The position will be located at Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Naval Station Norfolk, VA.
Provide support for various assessments, inspections, and technical assistance Galley//Laundry, Grease Interceptor Hoods/Vents (galley)/Gaylord Hood Ventilation, Fan coil assemblies.
Conduct cold/hot checks to determine equipment condition and identify parameters that are out of specification.
Observe operation of the equipment by ship's force to witness the full range of performance, where possible. Appropriate measuring equipment will be used to obtain data for evaluation.
Evaluate the findings of the cold checks and operational checks and make adjustments and repairs to the maximum extent possible during the time available.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, inspections, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.
Demonstrate regularly using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.
Demonstrate ability for interpreting ship’s drawings, wiring diagrams and control schematics as required to accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes.
Ability to interact and support other inspection teams such as but not limited to INSURV, ERAT
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least five (5) years of job-related experience.
Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
Requires the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.
Requires prior Navy Shipboard/Submarine “A Gang” electrician experience
Position requires travel
Position requires a Secret Security Clearance.
General Experience: Desired: Ten (10) years’ experience within the last 20 years in the operation, repair and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion machinery, electrical distribution or ordnance systems. A minimum of four (4) of the years should have been in a position of team leader or coordinator over a subordinate work force involved in the physical maintenance and repair of US Navy mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment and systems.
Specialized Experience: Desired: Four (4) years’ experience within the last 10 years with 600 psi or 1200 psi steam propulsion, diesel propulsion or gas turbine propulsion and ancillary equipment.
At a minimum two (2) of the years should have been in the administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system, OR
At a minimum four (4) of the years should have been in auxiliary and deck machinery
The specialized experience should demonstrate the individual’s ability to:
Work independentlySupervise technical personnel in performance of operation, maintenance, modification and repair.Provide on the job training to technical personnel in the operation, repair and maintenance (including use of equipment)
