Job Summary

  • Introduced to the Company estimating systems and processes.

  • Introduced to estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates.

  • Exposed to various processes, project actions and assumptions that may impact estimates.

  • Gathers, calculates and compiles data for use in developing all types of estimates.

  • Performs the routine aspects of estimating assignments.

  • Assists senior specialists in performing various estimating functions as required.

  • Exposed to drawings, specifications, work breakdown structures, charts of accounts, published and internal data used in preparing estimates.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • 4 years prior experience and proficiency in conceptual and hard bid estimating, quantity take- offs, project procurement including bid preparation, and familiarization with standard construction details and drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS + None or AA/AS (US) + 2 YORE or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 2 YORE or HS/GED + 4 YORE

  • Engineering degree or Construction Management degree preferred

  • Previous internship experience at CM company.

  • Technical knowledge of a specialized engineering discipline cost scheduling and/or contracts administration relating to the construction of heavy industrial or commercial complexes.

  • Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved including current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
