Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Lead Facilities Engineer responsible for the oversight of the operations and maintenance of a 24/7 plant operation within a large facility. The Lead Facilities Engineer will be responsible for working with the Operations and Maintenance Personnel along with area Manager to assess infrastructure conditions and mitigate risks. This position will also support the development of maintenance programs and long term recapitalization plans. Responsibilities will also include working with O&M technicians to assure high quality and reliable electrical operations, which includes optimizing equipment maintenance plans and schedules. Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Coordinate projects to improve safety of plant employees

  • Coordinate plant projects and work with the management team to establish priorities

  • Report activity and cost status on assigned projects, analyzing results against schedules, budgets, and requirements

  • Determine the most effective deployment of maintenance and engineering resources

  • Facilitate development and effectiveness of engineering and maintenance resources

  • Prepare capital project requests and justifications

  • Work with and direct vendors and outside contractors as needed

  • Proactively pursue energy efficient methods for plant operations

  • Prepare technical written reports as required

  • Assure that engineering output is in compliance with existing statutory codes, company policy, and safety standards

  • Maintain professional competence and knowledge of developments in processes, emerging technology and products through consultation with other company technical and professional personnel as well as industry peers

The Lead Engineer will also develop engineers and technicians on tools and the process of continuous learning.

Minimum Requirements

The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems; Experience in generator operation; personnel management experience, and excellent oral and written communication skills; and a working knowledge of facilities monitoring and control systems (i.e. SCADA/Foxboro).

A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering or a closely related field, and 12 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of major Power/operational plant, to include experience as an operations supervisor of a steam (100,000 lb./hr. or greater capacity) and chilled water (8,000 t/hr. or greater capacity) plant.

The candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

It is highly desired that the candidate possess a TS clearance.
