The appointee will be responsible to the Architect for managing building services engineering construction activities and programs of construction development at Sheung Shing Street, and alteration, additional, fitting-out in the university’s campuses. The appointee shall be stationed on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the building services engineering construction activities shall be completed on-time, cost, quality and complied with contractual and safety (OSH) requirements;

  • Carry out material inspections, site inspections, testing and commissioning, record site activities, monitor progress, check findings against specifications and drawings, report and issue site memoranda on defects and deviations, and ensure workmanship quality and proper rectification;

  • Provide advice on good construction practice and alternative proposals

  • Review design as well as ensure shop & record drawings and O&M manuals to conform to as-fitted and as-built work

  • Provide support and report to the Architect and University’s representatives (i.e. FMU and ITU) related to the Project. Prepare installation sketches, regular site report or meeting minutes;

  • Liaise with and co-ordinate among project team, internal users and external groups, including Government Departments, Utilities, consultants, contractors and specialist contractors, on relevant building services co-ordination and implementation of the works;

  • Irregular working hours (including night duties) may be required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree/ Higher Diploma in Building Services/ Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Over 5 years in managing mid-large scale new development/ construction projects, preferably with experiences in institutional development.

  • Prior site/ construction management experiences within facility management units and end users are highly preferred

  • Hands-on experience in computer applications, especially in using AutoCAD; and

  • Preference will be given to those with experience in construction of Educational Institutional and/ or Hotel developments

  • Strong sense of risk awareness and responsibility; commitment to teamwork, good interpersonal and communication skills; being self-motivated for performance achievement; ability to work independently under minimum supervision; and capability to manage all resources effectively are required.

  • Grade E or above in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language or Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and in English language in HKCEE or equivalent
