AECOM Sr. Applications Architect – Application Solutions and Integration in Glen Allen, Virginia

Job Summary

The Sr. Applications Architect – Application Solutions and Integration will be part of an Enterprise Application team. It is a fast paced environment where individuals that take initiative and are self-driven will excel.

The right candidate can be considered to work from one of our additional AECOM major office locations across the US.

The primary function of the Sr. Applications Architect is to serve as an IT subject matter expert (SME) for the enterprise systems – ERP, HCM, CRM and related integration to other systems. The person in this this role will be primarily responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving integration points between various key enterprise systems (i.e. Oracle EBS, APIC, Workday, Hyperion). As the applications evolve and grow, other technologies may come into play. The role also provides career growth in application architecture. The candidate will have the ability to provide input to the development of product roadmaps, design solutions, as well lead implementation efforts on large initiatives.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  1. Partner with team members to understand, document, and own existing integration processes with current enterprise system portfolio

  2. Lead architecture and technical solutioning and resources including 3rd parties and external vendors

  3. Build system/data models to illustrate current systems/processes

  4. Create new system/data models for enhancements

  5. Collaborate with DBA / development / application administration teams to implement solutions and identify improvements

  6. Engage in design and code reviews for new enhancements and large initiatives for enterprise applications

  7. Troubleshoot large business impact problems, help expedite resolutions, and engage in application support activities as needed

  8. Develop and conduct Quality Control and Testing procedures

  9. Command a deep understanding of project management, project accounting & billing, and be equipped to design integrations, especially to/from ERP systems

  10. Assist with change management and training for rollouts of enhancements and acquisition integrations if needed

  11. Contribute to governance best practices, documentation templates and processes

  12. Command a deep understanding of custom security model within a SoX controlled environment and manage access controls accordingly.

  13. Ensure adherence to security requirements and processes to maintain highest level of protection for source code, secure interfaces, passwords, data, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience with Oracle EBS application technical architecture and hands-on experience as DBA / Application Administrator HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • 10+ years of experience in end-to-end SDLC processes and methodologies in both custom application and non-custom application environments HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • 10+ years HANDS ON experience building integrations across multiple systems using a variety of integration patterns. Example: SOA/ESB, point-to-point, web services, batch jobs HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • Proven ability to perform large scale Systems Analysis, including data mapping and requirements translation into functional solutions

  • Deep knowledge of and experience with technology stacks and infrastructure from hardware to software architecture

  • Hands-on experience of coding/scripting languages (Examples: Java, HTML, Shell, Cron, etc.)

  • Practical experience with integration technologies (SOA, API, middleware, ETL tools, etc.)

  • Ability to develop integration and custom modules for existing application – practical coding experience essential

  • Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people, and manage expectations with business partners

  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently and report out as needed Ability to collaborate across IT disciplines and teams including outsourcing/3rd parties Experience delivering results in context of an offshore application development model

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related major + 10 years of relevant work experience or Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related major + 12 years of relevant work experience

  • Due to the nature of this position and sensitivity of information, US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications
