AECOM has a requirement for a Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join an established and growing South West team that delivers creative solutions for a range of civil engineering infrastructure projects for industry, government and commercial sectors. The Plymouth and Exeter civil infrastructure team design, supervise and project manage high-profile schemes across the South West with a reputation for delivering to exceptional standards for our clients.

Job Role

As an Engineer you will be tasked with undertaking the design of one or more elements of a single or multiple-disciplinary project. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will be expected to have experience and ability in the design of roads and/or drainage. It is envisaged the role will include working with and developing junior members of the team, sharing your knowledge and experience to develop others.

Specific Skills Required

  • Previous experience (> 5years) in civil infrastructure, UK highway and/or drainage design for Consulting Engineer or a Local/Highway Authority

  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and duties

  • Incorporated / Chartered Engineer status or working positively towards such accreditation

  • And at least one of the following:

  • Highway/pavement design skills including a working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Manual for Streets and Local Authority Design Guides for Highways in Residential and Commercial Estates

  • Drainage design skills including a working knowledge of Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations Part H and the SUDS Manual

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience and ability in WINDES

  • Experience and ability in at least one of the following ACAD Civils 3D, PDS or MOSS/MX

  • Knowledge of NEC contracts

  • Site supervision experience of civil engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • MEng / BEng / BSc / HNC in Civil Engineering.

  • Alternative qualifications may be considered where the candidate can demonstrate significant, relevant experience.

  • Incorporated / Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) or close to Professional Review

  • Full driving licence
