Job Description

AECOM Canada is searching for a Project Control Analyst for a full-time position based at Edmonton.

  • Works with company financial systems and processes.

  • Develops proficiency in the use of company cornerstone systems and provides cost data in formats necessary to control the project.

  • Understands financial terminology and measures and recognizes the financial impact of various project actions.

  • Assists in analyzing and using financial data to identify key project issues.

  • Able to use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data

  • Develops knowledge of accounting principles.

  • Assists in assembling data for trending and forecasting.

  • Prepares analysis of progress trends and cost impact. May participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoices.

  • Has working knowledge of scheduling software including both P6 and MSP

  • Collects and analyzes data on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations.

  • Collects and analyzes data for tracking actual cost to funding limitations.

  • Assists in tracking purchase orders and subcontract commitments and expenditures.

  • Possesses the knowledge of scope control and change management.

  • Assists with the creation of baseline budgets.

  • Exposure to scheduling process concepts and principles.

  • Exposure to performance management and cost/schedule integration concepts and principles.

  • Supports the project reporting process as required.

  • Participates in project cost review meetings.

  • Gathers data for procedure development.

  • Has knowledge of earned value methodology.

  • Has working knowledge of PCMS systems such as Prism, Ineight, Unifier

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for the position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • University degree in a related discipline (e.g. project management, scheduling, engineering, construction), along with four (4)+ years of related experience in project controls, in the engineering/design/procurement of large capital construction projects.

We may consider candidates possessing a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Formal training/certification in project management is considered a definite asset.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of practices and procedures involved in the scheduling function, with proven experience in the construction process and technology.

  • Hands-on experience in planning and preparing logic diagrams, critical path networks and bar charts, with particular emphasis on detailed construction schedules.

  • Demonstrated experience in claims management

  • Knowledge and experience with computer-based scheduling systems (Primavera P6, MS Project) and other computerized applications related to the work such as Microsoft Excel (pivot table, vlookup, charts, etc.)

  • Ability to receive and analyze information from numerous sources; sound judgement; strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Sound understanding of basic engineering and construction methodologies; ability to read construction drawings and specifications.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $102,000.00 - $120,000.00.
