AECOM’s Construction Services business is expanding! We have an exciting fixed term opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to deliver a varied of civil construction projects based in our busy Darwin office.

As a Project Engineer with a world leader in engineering and construction services across some of the biggest civil engineering projects throughout the globe, you will be exposed to a range of projects and stakeholders across multiple industry sectors. The Role

The position of Project Engineer is a 12 month fixed-term (minimum) contract opportunity operating in a managing contractor framework in a major civil construction project. The successful Project Engineer will have the opportunity to work across all stakeholder groups from concept to completion on a complex package of works.

A suitable Project Engineer will be keen to work in a fast-paced and autonomous work environment and has major contractor experience in order to thrive across our complex projects and have a strong understanding of the managing contractor model, as well and interfacing with a variety of stakeholders.

The successful Project Engineer will work across a key package of works, including site investigations, managing and interfacing with sub-contractors as well as managing EOT claims if applicable. This opportunity allows a Project Engineer to work across multiple disciplines in major packages of work and generate a valuable network in key projects based from Darwin.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years’ + Project Engineering experience in a civil construction environment

  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, to schedule and client parameters including a good understanding of civil project management frameworks

  • Prior exposure to delivering projects under a managing contractor model are highly regarded

  • Strong ability to manage, coordinate and delivery key packages of project works in fast-paced environments

  • Broad background in civil site construction, with an ability to be based in Darwin essential

  • Local market network and understanding of Federal Government frameworks and procedures is highly beneficial to assist in project concept-completion

  • Confident communicator in client-facing environments and an ability to engage successfully across broad and complex stakeholder groups

  • Strong ability to influence and confidence in negotiation

  • Ability to work alongside Project Managers, sub-contractors and clients in order to achieve optimal project results on time and on budget.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar.
