The Workplace practice, part of AECOM's Buildings + Places, is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Interior Designer to join our Chicago, IL team.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
As part of a team create and develop design and technical solutions for Interior Architecture projects in response to client needs.
Gather Space Programming information, and develop a space and functional program.
Prepare designs, renderings, sketches, diagrams, schematic and working drawings to illustrate design solutions.
Develop and document details to communicate design intent.
Develop, adapt, or modify design features and details under the direction of a project manager, project designer, or project architect.
Select and specify finish materials and furniture.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
4+ years of related experience
Fluency with Revit Architecture software.
Knowledge of 3D computer modeling programs including Sketch-Up, Rhino, or similar programs is important, along with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office capabilities.
Knowledge of project design and construction document production, standard construction techniques and principals.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to interact with senior representatives of client organizations.
Candidates must provide a portfolio or work samples with their application
Corporate workplace experience desirable, including a working knowledge of all phases and aspects of Corporate workplace projects.
Sustainability, resiliency, and/or climate adaptation a plus; LEED credentials desirable.
Professional registration as an Architect, or certification as an Interior Designer a plus. Candidates working toward those goals will also be considered.
