Job Summary

This position can be based at various metro locations within the U.S. or Canada where AECOM has an office presence.

The AECOM DCS Program Management/Construction Management (PM/CM) business line is a $375M gross revenue business specializing in the management of design and construction of community infrastructure facilities, in the education, healthcare, national governments, sports and leisure, justice, cultural venues, and commercial sectors. We also specialize in large-scale disaster recovery construction and mitigation programs throughout the Americas. From concept through completion, we provide necessary technical and administrative services to help our clients meet their program objectives.

Our PM/CM practice also acts as the Center of Excellence for PM/CM across our Transportation, Water and Environment business helping to identify, share and assure best practice and people.

The EVP provides leadership and strategic direction for all regions within the geography, while also serving as AECOM’s industry leader, collaborating with peers in other geographies to provide global leadership, leverage technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction and implement best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops strategic plan to drive strategy, revenue and profit growth, gross margin backlog and sales in defined market sectors and end markets across the geography.

  • Manages business development resources and PM/CM budget to deliver best acceptable return on business development investment.

  • Builds relationships with key clients, funding sources, industry organizations, teaming partners, and stakeholders to identify opportunities and grow the business.

  • Requires extensive collaboration with the five Americas regional geographic executives for business planning and execution.

  • Maintains and nurtures a culture of safeguarding (HSE, quality and ethics) and diversity and inclusion.

  • Develop budgets and sales plans to support the strategic objectives of the business line

  • Exercise leadership and oversight to achieve excellence in service to our clients and a profitable financial performance; take timely and effective actions when necessary to bring the business line to plan

  • Ensure the business line has appropriate management and technical talent for succession planning and to assure its success

  • Leading to ensure the business line employees have strong career development plans thereby ensuring we attract, develop and maintain the best people in the industry and that business line leaders strongly support this.

  • Ensure the business unit complies with governance structure of the corporation

  • Ensure the business line resources can operate at the leading edge of their markets in terms of skills and knowledge both technically and managerially

  • Achieve competitive advantage by instilling a culture of innovation and ‘future-proofing’ our PMCM services

  • In collaboration with regional executives and the geographic President, select and lead relationships for strategic partners for long-term, mutual business opportunities

  • As a key member of the corporate Executive Committee and the Americas DCS leadership team provide strategic advice and counsel for larger issues

Minimum Requirements

The candidate will possess a track record of delivering excellent results in terms of quality of service, timeliness, profitability, and business growth. The candidate will also have a track record of creating a climate where people want to do their best through working collaboratively, empowering their teams to identify and solve problems, creating a clear sense of identity with the corporation, and holding teams accountable for meeting their collective goals. The candidate should be one who invests in building constructive relationships with others, sharing relevant knowledge and being seen as a team player. Further, the candidate will have demonstrated the ability to strategically address growth opportunities and articulate evolving priorities for the business line.

  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field

  • 15+ years' experience, including six years of demonstrated leadership

  • Deep knowledge of the regional marketplace with national and global reach, key clients, and industry trends is paramount

  • Experience and skill in strategic business development, client relationships and driving sales and revenue

  • The ability to support and lead business development activities through early client interaction, “scope of work” development, interviews, and on-going client maintenance interface

  • Acted as principal-in-charge of a large/multi-disciplined project /consultant team

  • Significant travel within the US and Canada involved.
