Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment Specialist III to join the SH&E team. This position will be based in Baltimore, MD.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.

  • Field Work audits and follow-up of nonconformities (primarily construction sites related to the Water Business Line, but may interact with project of other business lines)

  • Maintains current knowledge of specific government agency requirements.

  • Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty.

  • Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.

  • Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases in the work area.

  • Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.

  • Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards.

  • Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.

  • May act as a lead role for a team of ES&H specialists and/or support personnel.

  • May administer an ES&H program on a small or medium-sized project.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of experience in first aid, CPR, and field safety programs or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Ability to travel to other facilities to perform inventory duties, using a AECOM provided Vehicle

  • For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Further industry recognized credentials (i.e., ASP, CSP, CHST, CIHT, STSC, etc.) are favorable

  • First aid, CPR Training

  • Effective in both oral and written communications

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint applications

  • Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work in a team environment as part of a larger Corporation

Additional Information

  • Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not offered for this position.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization, now or in the future.

  • This position may be subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $110,000.00.
