Job Summary

The AECOM ITS/Traffic Department is actively seeking a creative, self-driven, highly talented Senior ITS/Traffic Engineering Manager for employment in the Atlanta, GA office. As a Senior ITS/Traffic Engineering Manager in the ITS/Traffic Department you will manage ITS/Traffic projects, develop new business, and support a variety of work including traffic signal timing/operations, traffic engineering studies, traffic signal design, ITS planning, ITS architecture, ITS design, and ITS communications. We regularly perform hands-on signal operations and ITS work, so you'll have the opportunity to support implementing and fine-tuning traffic signal timing plans, troubleshooting ITS and traffic signal equipment, and programming and troubleshooting traffic signal and ITS communications network equipment. You'll also have the opportunity to lead the design of cutting-edge ITS projects that implement the latest technologies for improving freeway and surface street transportation.

  • Lead/manage design of ITS and traffic signal design projects according to each agency’s standards and plan development processes.

  • Serve as Project Manager and become an AECOM Certified Project Manager within 6 months.

  • Effectively manage project teams including engineers, planners, and technicians. Develop business opportunities by networking with clients and within the industry to establish relationships and sell AECOM services.

  • Support and leverage new business opportunities through ITS/Traffic project managers and their clients.

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic ITS/Traffic marketing plans and tactics.

  • Lead proposal development opportunities, including go/no-go decisions, determining teaming partners, scoping tasks, preparing estimates, and managing the proposal development team.

  • Mentor/train junior and mid-level staff.

  • Periodic travel required within Georgia and neighboring states to serve GDOT signal timing projects and visit clients.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Reports to ITS/Traffic Department Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or other related engineering fields.”

  • 15+ years of experience in traffic engineering

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail

  • Valid Driver's License required.
