Job Summary

AECOM has an opportunity for an

Architect to join our staff at our Annapolis Junction, MD location. The selected candidate will perform basic architectural/engineering calculations; prepare specifications, reports and related data tables. The Architect will maintain liaison with design and drafting groups and prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, Architects maintain project coordination with all other disciplines on an assigned project.

  • Provides Supervising Architect status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.

  • Provides technical assistance and guidance to technical and architectural personnel.

  • Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities.

  • Assures quality, quantity, and completeness of the architectural/engineering work required.

  • Plans and schedules architectural/engineering efforts associated with assigned projects.

  • Maintains timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports regarding assigned activities.

  • Maintains proper architectural/engineering files and records.

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.

  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

  • Performs other architectural/engineering-related work as required.

  • Performs programming, observation and customer interviews.

  • Provides management of office CADD programs and activities, chairing the CADD Committee and coordinating with members and other office personnel.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

(This job will provide an opportunity for the candidate to obtain a high level security clearance)

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

  • Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent education.

  • 4+ years of architectural experience.

  • Strong AutoCAD and Revit experience required.

  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TS/SCI w/poly preferred.

  • Registered Architect in a home state preferred.

  • Experience with Federal Government and other institutional facilities preferred.

  • BIM experience preferred.
